The hold section at the bottom is an option if you would need an area to store the packages. Without the bottom section, your packages would simply collect on the floor. There is also an optional outgoing mail compartment with carrier flag that may be purchased. The locking mailbox is made of galvanized steel and comes in 5 durable powder coated finishes.
